Comprehensive chimney care for your home's safety and efficiency

Local Chimney Sweep And Cleaning

Creosote builds up every time you burn wood - and it's the #1 cause of chimney fires. We clean the full flue system from top to firebox, removing soot, glazed creosote, and blockages so your chimney draws properly and your family stays safe.

Chimney Inspection

Level 1, 2, or 3 - we match the inspection to the situation. Buying a home? Level 2 with video. Annual checkup? Level 1 covers it. We document everything with photos and give you a clear report, not a sales pitch.

Chimney Repair

Cracked crowns, crumbling mortar joints, damaged flue tiles - we fix what's broken before it becomes a bigger problem. Most repairs take a day or less, and we'll show you exactly what needs work before we start.

Chimney Cap Installation

A chimney without a cap is an open invitation for rain, raccoons, and downdrafts. We install stainless steel and copper caps with built-in spark arrestors, custom-sized to fit your flue opening exactly.

Chimney Liner

Older chimneys often have cracked clay tiles or no liner at all - both are fire hazards. We install stainless steel and cast-in-place liners that meet current code and actually improve your draft.

Chimney Masonry Repair

Brick and mortar don't last forever, especially in humid climates. We repoint deteriorated joints, replace spalled bricks, and match existing materials so the repair blends in. Catches water problems before they reach your interior walls.

Chimney Flashing Repair

That dark stain on your ceiling near the chimney? Probably failed flashing. We remove the old material, install new step and counter flashing, and seal everything properly. Stops leaks at the source.

Chimney Rebuilds

When repair isn't enough, we rebuild. From the roofline up or from the foundation - depends on how far the damage goes. New masonry, new liner, new cap, new flashing. Done right so you won't need us again for decades.

Chimney Animal Removal

Scratching sounds? Foul smell? Birds, squirrels, and raccoons love chimneys. We remove them humanely, clear out nesting material, and cap the flue so they can't get back in.

Fireplace Cleaning

Ash piling up in the firebox, soot on the damper, smoke stains on the surround - we clean it all. Includes the firebox, smoke shelf, and damper assembly. Your fireplace will look and work like it should.

Chimney Fireplace Repair

Smoke pouring into the room instead of going up? Damper stuck? Cracked smoke chamber? We diagnose the actual problem - not guess - and fix it. Most fireplace issues are straightforward once you know where to look.

Firebox Repair

Cracked firebricks and deteriorated refractory panels are more than cosmetic - they let heat reach combustible framing behind the wall. We replace damaged bricks and mortar with proper heat-rated materials.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning

Gas fireplaces still need annual service. Dust coats the burner and logs, the pilot assembly corrodes, and the glass fogs up. We clean the full unit - burner, pilot, glass, and venting - so it runs clean and stays under warranty.

Gas Fireplace Repair

Pilot won't stay lit? No heat? Remote stopped working? We troubleshoot gas fireplace issues from thermocouples to valve assemblies. Certified on all major brands - Heatilator, Lennox, Napoleon, Majestic, and more.

Wood Stove Repair

Door gaskets wear out, baffles warp, glass cracks. We service all wood stove brands - replace worn parts, adjust the door seal, and make sure your stove drafts correctly. Gets your heat output back where it should be.

Pellet Stove Repair

Auger jams, igniter failures, control board errors - pellet stoves have more moving parts than most people realize. We diagnose and repair the issue, clean the exhaust path, and get your stove feeding and burning properly again.

Duct Cleaning

Your HVAC pushes air through every duct in the house - along with whatever's living in them. Dust, pet dander, mold spores, construction debris. We clean the full system and you'll notice the difference in air quality immediately.

Dryer Duct Cleaning

Lint in your dryer vent is a fire waiting to happen - it's one of the top causes of house fires nationally. We clean the full run from the dryer to the exterior vent. Clothes dry faster, energy bill drops, fire risk gone.

Commercial Air Duct Cleaning

Restaurants, offices, multi-unit buildings - commercial ductwork collects grease, dust, and allergens at scale. We schedule after hours to keep your business running and bring your system up to health code standards.

Chimney Repair

October 12, 2025 Country Road
Problem

The brick chimney crown was heavily deteriorated with missing mortar, exposed and cracked clay flue tile, creating a clear water-entry and structural protection risk. The tall wood-clad chase showed failed flashing/sealant at the roof intersection and no visible cap, and the interior wood-burning stove/firebox had a large accumulation of ash, creosote and soot with surface rust at the opening.

Solution

We removed loose crown material, repaired and parged the crown, and installed a stainless mesh chimney cap over the clay flue tile to protect the flue. New metal step flashing and base flashing were installed and fully sealed at the roof/chimney intersection, the chase siding seams were re-sealed, and the firebox was cleaned of ash/creosote; a prefab fireplace insert and new vent/liner transitions were also set and secured during the installation.

Chimney weatherproofing and crown protection restored, interior firebox cleaned and venting secured, reducing leak risk and improving safety and performance. Customer now has a sealed chase, a capped flue, and a properly installed insert venting system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from Eure

What is a typical price for a chimney sweeping and inspection in Eure, NC, and what local factors affect the cost? LOCAL

+

In Eure, NC, the typical cost for a Level 1 chimney inspection and sweeping ranges from $195 to $350. The variability in pricing can be influenced by factors such as the amount of creosote buildup and the type of appliance in question. Our local climate, particularly the high humidity in northeastern North Carolina, can result in more significant creosote deposits due to less-than-ideal firewood seasoning. If you have a masonry fireplace versus a modern wood stove, the time and tools required will differ. Accessibility is another factor; homes with steep roofs or higher chimneys may incur additional costs. Every service includes a thorough safety inspection to ensure your chimney is ready for use. We’ll be glad to provide a personalized quote based on your specific needs.

With our humid Eure, NC climate, how often do I really need to get my wood stove or fireplace chimney swept? We mostly burn local oak and some pine. LOCAL

+

For homeowners in Eure, NC, we recommend getting your chimney swept and inspected annually, especially considering the region's humid climate. Although we burn mostly oak and some pine, the moisture content can lead to increased creosote buildup, which poses a fire risk. The National Fire Protection Association suggests that you schedule an inspection once a year. Cleanings should occur when there’s about 1/8 inch of soot buildup. Families who regularly use their wood stoves or fireplaces during the chilly winters should consider this a priority. In Eure, a typical cleaning and inspection usually costs between $175 and $275, which is a small price for ensuring your family’s safety.

I live in Eure, NC, and I'm wondering if there's a 'best' time of year to schedule my annual chimney inspection and sweep. Does the northeastern North Carolina weather affect your busy season? LOCAL

+

The best time to book your annual chimney sweep in Eure is during the spring or summer months, specifically from April to August. This timing lets you avoid the fall rush, which starts when the first cool weather hits in late September or October. Booking during the off-season means more flexibility in finding a convenient appointment. More importantly, it ensures your chimney is thoroughly cleaned and safe for immediate use when colder temperatures arrive. Waiting until the last minute could lead to delays, leaving you without heat on chilly nights. Plan ahead for peace of mind this winter.

I've heard about creosote buildup being a big fire risk. Is this a major problem for wood-burning stoves here in Eure, NC, especially with all the local pine we burn? LOCAL

+

Creosote buildup is a frequent concern for wood-burning stoves, especially in Eure, NC, where many residents burn local pine. Pine tends to produce more oily soot that can accumulate quickly, creating a significant fire hazard. We recommend an annual inspection following the NFPA guidelines, which is especially crucial given our humid climate. This moisture can exacerbate creosote issues. If you're using pine frequently during the winter, a mid-season sweep may also be beneficial. A certified technician will check the levels of buildup and ensure that your chimney remains safe for use.

I'm thinking of installing a new wood stove in my Eure home. Are there specific local codes or permits I need to worry about? LOCAL

+

Installing a new wood stove in Eure requires adherence to the North Carolina State Building Code, which mandates that you obtain a permit from the Gates County Planning & Inspections department before installation. This ensures compliance with safety standards like proper clearance from combustibles and chimney height regulations. Given our coastal climate, incorporating insulated stainless steel liners is advisable as they help prevent corrosion and minimize creosote buildup. We assist with the entire permitting process to ensure your installation is safe and compliant, giving you one less thing to worry about.
